Biography

Dr. Eng. Tirivangani Magadza is a distinguished Professional Engineer, a member of the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers (MZweIE), and a member of the Computer Society of Zimbabwe (CSZ). As the Acting Director of the AI Centre at Harare Institute of Technology (HIT), he is at the forefront of advancing artificial intelligence research, education, and application in Zimbabwe and across Africa.

With a strong background in engineering, computer science, and AI, Dr. Magadza leads initiatives that bridge the gap between academic research and practical AI solutions. His work focuses on developing AI capabilities that address real-world challenges in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, finance, and public administration.

Dr. Magadza is passionate about capacity building and works extensively with students, professionals, and policymakers to foster AI literacy and promote responsible AI adoption. He has contributed to numerous national and regional AI strategy documents and is a sought-after speaker on AI management, ethics, and the future of work.
